Veronique Swagemakers, DVM

Veronique graduated in 2004 from the Veterinary Medicine University of Utrecht. For a few years she was co-owner of an equine clinic in Mol, Belgium, specializing in equine medicine. Since 2009 she has her own sports medicine practice.

Veronique has successfully trained many horses from young age upto PSG and inter II level.

During her studies, she was a certified fitness instructor for many years at the well-known Les Mills Fitness program. The different approaches and training methods for humane athletes inspire her to rethink the approach for horses. Riding her own horses in sport gave her loads of information she needed to use. Too many times horses are diagnosed too easily. It's important to know where injuries start and if the horse moves correctly. To increase mobility and solve injuries horses need to move in a more functional way. Sometimes that requests a different approach and fine tuning from lots of circumstances.

She found a method and way of treating and managing sporthorses to improve the functional movement and increase the sport horse's athleticism and prevent them from falling back in wrong mobility and motion.

Veronique is a member of the Equine High Performance Sport Group, a member of the Dutch Certified Equine Practitioners and member of CKRD and KNMvD
